OpenCart an ambitious project founded by Daniel Kerr is a fresh, new (since 2009) shopping cart build on MVC architecture.

The framework has as standard included many payment gateways, shipping options and is multilingual. Supported by a big community, OpenCart is published as OpenSource under the GNU/GPL.

Additional to OpenCart many modules (called here contributions) are avaliable to cover many of users additonal wishes.

Also avaliable are several different templates to customize the webshop with an individual design.

Because of the demand and the requirements of most of the European Countries regarding webshops, we have created a package called OCIE - OpenCart International Edition. Based on the latest release of OpenCart it covers those legal issues, has all known latest bugfixes included and additonally a few more tweaks as standard.

Right now the best soution to operate your webshop with the engine of OpenCart.
