While the story with OpenCart and templates becomes better and better, there is one issue which becomes more important since the OpenCart version 1.5.x series: custom templates.

What happens?

OpenCart use a few template positions (e.g. header, home, footer, etc.) and became more flexible because of this.

Most of the template files ar using a few variables (php and css) and are not relevant.

But inside a few files (e.g. for the shopping cart or displaying the products) the standard installation use some very specific variables and values without the design wont work.
